Innocent Project

Why

From a biblical perspective, we are called to remember and support those who are imprisoned, especially the innocent who suffer unjustly. Hebrews 13:3 urges us to “remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” Providing assistance is a reflection of God’s justice and mercy at work in the world. As the psalmist laments in Psalm 109:2–3, “for the mouths of the wicked and the deceitful have opened against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues. With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause.” This scripture reminds us that false accusations and unjust suffering are not new, and our response should be to stand in solidarity, offering compassion and support to those enduring such trials.

Food and Basic Items

Far too often those behind bars go without the most basic necessities like nourishing food and essential toiletries. These items, which most of us take for granted, are not always accessible in prison and can make the difference between dignity and despair. By helping to provide these fundamental needs, we send a powerful message of compassion, restore a measure of humanity, and remind those incarcerated that they are not forgotten.

Legal Assistance

For those who are innocent yet trapped within the prison system, navigating the legal process is often overwhelming and financially devastating. Legal fees, appeals, and the costs of adequate representation quickly rise beyond what most families can afford, leaving many without the resources to fight for their freedom. By helping with these expenses, we ensure that justice is not reserved only for those with means. Your support gives the innocent a fair chance to be heard, to access competent legal defense, and to reclaim their lives from a system that has failed them.

The Road Forward

Since its inception, MWIMPP has worked quietly yet diligently to support innocent individuals who are wrongfully imprisoned. Our efforts include assisting with the legal process, advocating for them on the outside, and providing weekly commissary support to meet their basic needs. As we continue this mission, we look forward to expanding our reach and deepening our impact, ensuring that more lives can be touched by justice, compassion, and hope.
